2007-2008 Election Board

2007-2008 Election Code

President and Vice President.  University Court Justices.  Senators. College Council officers.  All of these positions are available in the Fall and Spring semesters during general elections. Candidates may run as individuals or on a registered campaign ticket (a typical ticket for Student Government elections can contain over 70 names). Elections are managed by the Student Government Election Board and are enforced according to the Election Code.

In the spring, each student votes for at-large members that represent all students at LSU: the Student-body President and Vice President, five University Court Justices, and one Union Board Member. In addition, each student elects members for their respective college council. Finally, each student selects senators who represent the student's home college.  The number of senators representing each college is proportional to the number of students enrolled in that college. In the fall, a student may typically vote for a number of justices to serve on the University Court and senators who will fill half of the seats allotted to the student's academic college.  Other positions may be filled through the election process based on vacant positions.
