Events for Safety Week 2008:
Tuesday, March 11
All day: Spring Break Safety promotion with Students on Target members handing out materials and speaking to students about safety issues in Free
Speech Alley.
All day: Student Government officials will hand out “Stay Safe” materials
in Free Speech Alley.
Wednesday, March 12
All day (approximately from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.): LSU Police Department will hold
an interactive student event on Tower Drive near the LSU Memorial Tower.
The event will include discussions, demonstrations and safety procedures by
the LSUPD, including uniform patrols, bicycle and motorcycle officers, K-9
explosive detection officers and officers with specialized FBI training.
Laptops will also be set up around the event where students can register
for LSU’s Emergency Text Message System. Officials from the LSU Emergency
Operations Center will be on hand to answer questions and talk with
students about LSU’s crisis planning and communication.
All day: Student Government officials will hand out “Stay Safe” materials
in Free Speech Alley.
Thursday, March 13
7 p.m.: Express Rape Aggression Defense, or RAD, class at the Kappa Delta
House in the chapter room, open to all female LSU students.
All day: LSU Student Health Center officials will be present in Free Speech
Alley to answer questions and concerns of students, as well as hand out
materials.
All day: Student Government officials will hand out “Stay Safe” materials
in Free Speech Alley.
Friday, March 14
All day: Student Government officials will hand out “Stay Safe” materials
in Free Speech Alley.
