About the Legislative Branch
The Legislative Branch is composed of students who represent each of LSU's senior colleges, an elected Speaker and Speaker Pro Tempore along with a Secretary, Undersecretary, Parliamentarian, Sergeant at Arms and Director of Communications who are appointed by the Speaker.
The Student Senate meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the Capital Chamber of the LSU Student Union.
Each of LSU's Student Senators serves on one of six committees: Academic Affairs, Budget and Appropriations, Campus Affairs and Sustainability, Rules, Student Auxiliaries and Services, and Student Life, Diversity and Community Outreach.
